You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or submit content. For minors represented in memorials, a parent or legal guardian must provide authorization for publication.

3. User Accounts

Users must provide accurate and complete information.
You are responsible for:

  1. Maintaining the confidentiality of your login details
  2. All activities that occur under your account
  3. Ensuring the right to share any submitted content

We may disable or remove accounts for violations of these terms.

4. Content Submission & Ownership

What Users Can Submit:

  • Obituary text, photos, videos, biography details
  • Tribute messages and condolences
  • Funeral event information
  • Vendor service information

Rights You Grant Us:

By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • Display, publish, distribute, archive, and promote the content
  • Modify layout and formatting (without altering meaning)
  • This is necessary to operate and promote the platform.

User Responsibility

You confirm that submitted content:

  • Is accurate and lawful
  • Respects privacy and permissions of families
  • Does not infringe copyrights or trademarks
  • Does not contain offensive, misleading, defamatory or hateful materials

We may remove content at our sole discretion.

5. Public Memorial Content

Obituary and tribute pages are typically visible to the public unless privacy restrictions are enabled.

6. Prohibited Activities

Users must NOT:

  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent authority
  • Upload harmful or malicious software
  • Post harassing, abusive, political, or commercial spam content
  • Interfere with the security or operation of the Website
  • Copy, scrape, or archive large amounts of data without permission

Violators may be blocked and reported to authorities.

7. Paid Services & Billing

Premium and Marketplace fees must be paid in advance.
All payments are processed securely via third-party payment partners.

Refunds may be granted only if:

  • A paid listing is not published, OR
  • A technical issue prevents service delivery

We do not offer refunds for:

  • User mistakes or incomplete submissions
  • Change of personal preferences after publication

Pricing may change with prior notice.

8. Vendors & Third-Party Services

RestInPeace.ng does not control or guarantee:

  • Quality of vendor services
  • Prices, delivery time, or availability

Any disputes must be resolved between the user and vendor.
We may blacklist vendors who violate trust/quality standards.

9. Privacy & Data Protection

We manage data in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).

10. Intellectual Property

All branding, layout, design, website software, and platform features belong to RestInPeace.ng.

Users may not:

  • Copy or reverse-engineer the platform
  • Use our name or content for unauthorized commercial use
  • Create competing memorial platforms using copied data

11. Platform Availability & Changes

We strive for continuous availability but:

  • Do not guarantee uninterrupted service
  • May update features or remove content
  • May temporarily restrict access for maintenance

We reserve the right to discontinue services with prior notice where possible.

12. Liability Disclaimer

RestInPeace.ng is provided “as is”.

We are not liable for:

  • Content errors submitted by users
  • Vendor actions or service outcomes
  • Loss of data caused by user error or technical issues
  • Emotional distress arising from memorial content

Our total liability will not exceed the amount paid for the service in question.

13. Account Termination

We may suspend or delete any account that:

  • Violates these Terms
  • Engages in fraudulent or abusive behavior
  • Threatens the safety or dignity of others

Users may delete their accounts at any time by contacting us.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Disputes will be resolved in Nigerian courts or through independent dispute resolution when required.
